Describe an aspect of your personality, experiences you
have had, or things you have learned that will help you contribute to
Rochester’s diversity.
When I come to Rochester, I will bring the perspective of a Democrat living in a
red state. I come from a family of New York Italians, but I’ve grown up among
conservative Southerners, and have been constantly faced with ideas to which I
have strong objections. Having helped with North Carolina’s Democratic Senate
race this fall and participated in political discussions, I will bring an
understanding of conservative views on topics that are currently being hotly
debated. My passion for politics and current events, as well as my liberal views
countered by conservative ones, will add greatly to the diversity when I attend
the University of Rochester next year.
